Our interfacility teams provide the highest-quality care for patients requiring medical transportation between hospitals and other health care facilities.

ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT

Our Advanced Life Support (ALS) teams provide services designed to meet the needs of patients whose medical conditions require advanced levels of care, monitoring and interventions during transport. In addition to all BLS skills, our ALS clinicians are trained to monitor and administer intravenous fluids, administer medications, monitor cardiac activity, and monitor surgical airways, among other interventions. Our highly trained crews are dedicated to ensuring patient care and safety is our highest priority.

Basic Life Support

We work closely with hospital and health care facility partners to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care. Our Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances are staffed by two certified EMTs who are trained to provide expert out-of-hospital medical care and transportation. BLS services include monitoring the patient’s airway, circulation and breathing during transport. In an emergency, EMTs are trained to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and other noninvasive life-saving skills.

Basic Life Support

SPECIALTY CARE

Specialty care transport (SCT) services are designed to provide the highest level of medical care for critically ill or injured patients. This category of services may also be referred to as Critical Care Transport (CCT) services in some of our markets. Our specialty care teams include registered nurses and paramedics with advanced certifications not only to provide ALS interventions during transport, but also to manage ventilators, surgical airways and administer IV medications. Specialty care transport patients are most often being transported from one hospital facility or trauma center to another.

The event standby team provides rapid emergency medical care during events in which the traffic, crowd congestion or obscure locations can make normal modes of emergency care difficult. Our capabilities include small-scale community to larger public events. Our goal is to protect the safety and health of our guests with advanced planning and logistics, professional staffing and specialized event response equipment. Events we cover include marathons, runs, walks, construction sites, motor sports, sporting events, media and movie production sets.

PEDIATRIC SERVICES

When a child is critically ill or injured, Priority Ambulance of Arizona has the training and equipment to provide highly specialized medical care to every child and adolescent. Every Priority Ambulance of Arizona team member is certified in prehospital pediatric emergency medicine, and our emergency vehicles carry specially designed equipment for newborns, children and adolescents.

COORDINATED DISPATCH

To coordinate the systemwide ambulance network, a central dispatch center is co-located in the Baptist Patient Placement Center (PPC). Baptist’s PPC is staffed with experienced nurses who track status and manage all 2,700 beds in the Baptist system while facilitating transfers and assignments of beds from all Baptist facilities from one central location. Priority Ambulance’s centralized dispatch center answers more than 70,000 interfacility ambulance transfer requests and 911 calls annually.

Behavioral Health

Priority Ambulance of Arizona is the leading EMS expert in behavioral health transportation in Georgia. We have served one of the largest behavioral health systems in the state for decades.

Employees receive special training on the medical skills and the sensitivity to safely and respectfully treat and transport behavioral health patients, including verbal deescalation training. Adjustments to our vehicles and equipment for safety include: Buckle Guard technology on stretchers ensures only the EMT or paramedic with the key can unlock the strap buckles; converted handles on the back doors to latches at the top to reduce the risk of a patient opening doors without permission; and real-time closed loop video monitoring so driver can view the patient and partner en route.

BARIATRIC SERVICES

Priority Ambulance of Arizona strives to provide emergency medical transportation with the highest level of comfort for our patients. Several of our ambulances are equipped with special bariatric stretchers designed to provide superior stability and comfort. The design of these stretchers enables our crews to transport all patients in a safe, comfortable and dignified manner.

LEADER IN CARDIAC CARE

Priority Ambulance of Arizona has been recognized for five consecutive years by the American Heart Association for superior pre-hospital care of patients experiencing severe, STEMI heart attacks. In these cases, time is critical to preserve heart muscle and to support positive outcomes for our patients.

WHEELCHAIR

Priority Ambulance of Arizona provides essential wheelchair van services for physically challenged individuals who require transportation to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, and other outpatient medical care. Services are provided in our Fredericksburg and Salem/Roanoke regions. Employees assigned to wheelchair van services are required to participate in a standardized orientation program to ensure that every patient receives safe, caring, quality service. Drivers are CPR certified, EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) certified, and hold a valid drivers license in good standing. All wheelchair vans also carry first aid and safety equipment.

AUTOMATIVE & FLEET SERVICES

Priority Ambulance of Arizona Automotive & Fleet Services (Car, Truck, & Fleet) is a fully equipped automotive and fleet service center located at LifeCare’s Corporate Campus in Fredericksburg, VA.

Our highly skilled technicians provide preventative and general maintenance services to the general public, including computer diagnostics and repairs, regular scheduled maintenance, state safety inspections, engine and transmission replacements, wheelchair lift installations, A/C service and repairs, timing belts, brakes, and shocks. On-site service is also available.
